The Ithaca Journal had a Cornell-Dartmouth preview Friday. Big Red coach Jim Knowles said:
“If we can stop the run and have our offensive line establish control of the line of scrimmage ... and play great special teams, which we've been doing,” Cornell coach Jim Knowles said, “that's what I told the team — we have to do those three things, then our skill players will get a chance to make plays.”Speaking of Cornell, there's an intriguing column in the Louisville Courier-Journal about a former Cornell basketball player who transferred to Louisville and is playing with the Cardinals. Will Scott says that for him, the fit at Louisville is better than it was at Cornell and the education is what he wanted. It's a good story with one of the better quotes you are going to see:
Academics were not the problem for Scott at Cornell. Personal fulfillment was. The Ivy League isn't for everybody -- even if your parents are prominent orthopedic surgeons in Manhattan. Besides, he didn't want to be a doctor. So I'm looking at the Ithaca Journal site and notice there's a video entitled Cornell Football Jam. Cool, I think and click on it. After watching the video (which was actually pretty good) I went back to read the caption again. ;-)
"I don't understand how they do it," he said. "I couldn't cut somebody open and then go eat lunch."
