Storm Warnings? Forecast Isn't Too Bad

The weather services don't all agree -- yet -- but the National Weather Service is predicting the after-effects of the hurricane will strike but a glancing blow in the Upper Valley:
A CHANCE OF RAIN IN THE MORNING...THEN
RAIN LIKELY IN THE AFTERNOON. HIGHS IN THE LOWER 40S. NORTH WINDS
10 TO 15 MPH WITH GUSTS UP TO 25 MPH. CHANCE OF RAIN 70 PERCENT.
Weather Channel says "few showers," 43 degrees and and an 11 mph wind from the northeast at 1 p.m. Saturday.

The reason for double-checking the forecast was an email just in from Plymouth State, about 45 miles away:

Plymouth State University’s football game at Salve Regina scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 3, has been postponed to avoid the inclement weather caused by Hurricane Noel.

The game has been pushed back a day, and the Panthers and Seahawks will now kick off Sunday, Nov. 4, at 2:00 p.m. at Toppa Stadium in Newport.
Salve Regina is in Newport, R.I.
