Hardy Boy Not a Mystery Anymore

It took some doing but I finally dug up some information on Chris Hardy, the Dartmouth-bound, 6-foot-3, 215 tailback from Ohio's Oakwood High School. This story says he was "on the recruiting radar of several Mid-American Conference schools and other NCAA Division I mid-majors and settled on Dartmouth, Lafayette and Georgetown as his final three. He told the paper: "I really thought hard about Georgetown because I love Washington D.C. But the more I thought about it, Dartmouth had the most to offer football-wise and academically." For a head shot, click here.

Hardy's hometown Oakwood Register had a story about his "signing." Click here for a blowup of his "Signing day," photo.

Stats are hard to come by, but this story before Hardy's senior year said he had 2,364 career yards and 178 career points. (It also says he visited Bucknell, Cornell, Dartmouth and the U.S. Naval Academy before his senior season.) His "signing" story says he ran for more than 1,500 yards. Hardy, who has considered playing college baseball, will graduate high school with 12 letters in football, basketball and baseball.

This story tells of a game where he had kickoff returns for touchdowns of 89 and 87 yards and 323 yards of total offense.
