It's a miserable morning in Hanover with a miserable day on tap. The hourly forecast goes from "few showers" to "showers," beginning at 10 a.m., and the temperature could struggle to get out of the 40s. (It's 42 as I write this.)
The Green-White scrimmage will go on as planned with kickoff slated for 10:30 this morning. The big news coming out of the scrimmage: The quarterbacks – with the exception of Alex Jenny – will be live. That will give the coaches, the fans and the players a lot better idea about the pass rush and tackling, and allow the quarterbacks a chance to show their escapability. I'm looking forward to seeing what super-elusive freshman Tim McManus does.
While football will go on, things are looking dicey for the Ivy League Championship Baseball Series. Apparently a fan bus was to leave New York City with Columbia students, alums etc., at 7 this morning. I hope they brought their sleeping bags.
The forecast, by the way is worse for tomorrow. The National Weather Service has the chance of showers at 90 percent.
