Wrapping Up Sunday

The New Haven Register game story after Yale's 38-7 win over Dartmouth included this:
Had the members of the Dartmouth football team taken the time to peer into the eyes of Yale seniors Paul Rice and John Sheffield on Saturday, the Big Green might have decided to get back on the bus and go home.
The Register's Portal 31 blog praised the Yale coaching:
The no-huddle offense caught Dartmouth off guard. Then again, so did the fake punt, onsides kick, quarterback draw and so on and so forth.
This is also from Portal 31 (italics are mine):
All (Brook) Hart did was complete 28 of 40 passes for 390 yards and three touchdowns. I know it was against Dartmouth but you couldn't help but think Hart moved ahead in the quarterback competition.
Ouch.

The local paper almost never puts a Dartmouth story on the web, so not link there, but here's the lede:
Dartmouth Beat -- and Beat Up -- By Yale
What now, for the Dartmouth football team? Where does the Ivy League's worst team go after yesterday's 38-7 loss at Yale in a game that was thought to be one of its best chances for victory this season?
Elsewhere, opponent capsules, box scores and a thought or two on ...

Harvard 28, Cornell 10

This one was just 14-10 in the fourth quarter. Cornell managed just nine first downs but had a chance in the final 15 minutes.

Brown 34, Holy Cross 31
The previously unbeaten Crusaders are going to be an ornery bunch when Dartmouth visits next Saturday.

Lafayette 24, Columbia 21
A terrific start (21-7 lead) but disappointing finish for the Lions, who lost on a touchdown run with 13 seconds. Columbia's strong showing came against a Lafayette team that pounded Yale a week ago.

Penn 21, Bucknell 3
Fourth-string quarterback John Hurley completed 14-of-27 passes for 148 yards but the star of the day was the Penn defense, which held Bucknell to 196 yards and 11 first downs.

No. 5 New Hampshire 28, No. 2 Villanova 24
Showing once again he plays best against the best, UNH quarterback RJ Toman returned to go 15-for-28 for 292 yards.

From Thursday ...
Colgate 21, Princeton 14, 2 OT
The Tigers rallied with a touchdown in the fourth quarter to force overtime and then scored first in OT only to see the unbeaten Raiders match them and win in the second extra inning.
