The Sports Network has a piece on transfers in the FCS this year. It suggests Dartmouth's Julian Flamer, a transfer defensive lineman from Hofstra, "should contribute right away."The story also notes that Josh Vick, Cornell's transfer quarterback from UNH (who "might have been Cornell's starting quarterback") hurt his knee during track season and is out for the year.

The Daily Dartmouth has a story about the Dartmouth athletic director search that includes a slightly adjusted search committee. Here's who the paper lists:- Committee chair Joseph Belbruno (chemistry professor, football faculty advisor)
- Vice chair Tracy Walsh ’91 (assistant dean of development and administration)
- John Carey (government professor)
- Patty Anderson (economics professor)
- Samantha Ivery (assistant dean of student life)
- Dan Parish ’89 (associate director of admissions)
- David Spalding ’76 (chief of staff)
- Bob Gaudet ’81 (men’s hockey head coach)
- Jabari Trotter ’12 (men’s basketball player)
- Marietta Smith ’12 (women’s golfer)
“The hope is that by the time Fall term begins, there will be an athletic director. That is our goal, and I think we’ll get there. It turns out summer is a good time for interviewing candidates since most institutions have no summer programs.”

With the unfortunate demise (I'm editorializing here) of the football media guide, the web is going to be all-important in the future. Kudos to Cornell for being the first Ivy to pull its guide material together in one place. Find the Cornell football information center here.(Now wish me luck as I start the process of downloading all of the bits and pieces of the various schools and try reassembling them into useable form on a CD or jump drive.)

We spent a good part of yesterday wandering through the Central Pennsylvania Festival of the Arts in downtown State College. It is absolutely huge and we spotted only a few works that included images of Joe Paterno ;-)
