More On QB-Turned-Champion Thrower

Now it is the Boston Globe writing about Sean Furey, the former Dartmouth junior varsity quarterback who recently won the javelin at the USA Outdoor Track & Field Championships.

Furey, who is targeting the 2012 London Olympics, told the Globe:
“I can’t even put a ceiling on it, but ever since I was a junior in high school I knew I could be among the best. For a lot of years, I think I was the only person in the world who thought that. I was told many times I had reached my full potential, but as I said, I know I have a lot more in the tank.’’
As the newly crowned national champion told the Eagle-Tribune last fall, "Football was always my first love."

Find a brief bio of Furey on the 2003-04 Dartmouth track website.

The Brown Bear Blogger has posted his scouting report on Dartmouth. It's another confirmation that the Big Green has more bodies, more veterans with solid 2009 statistics and more starters with All-Something honors returning next fall than it has in a good number of years.

It was a long day's journey into night returning from Penn State yesterday. A morning golf camp session for That Certain Hanover High Duffer followed by the requisite lunch at Jimmy John's and then still another souvenir hunt on College Avenue meant a midnight return to the Upper Valley.
