The Hanover forecast, by the way, has changed from 30 percent chance of rain at kickoff to 10 percent and "mostly cloudy." If you trust the forecast the wind will be north-northwest at 18 mph and the temperature 42 degrees. Bundle up. Might be time to lose the flip-flops. ;-)
For a little background on today's opponent, check out the Worcester Telegram story about the 17-13 Holy Cross win over Brown last week. BGA will be the Telegram stringer in Hanover today.

The New York Times has a nice story about the Columbia football program that is largely centered on dynamic quarterback Sean Brackett. The Times, like some other outlets, mentions Columbia is on its first three-game winning streak since 1997. By the letter of the law, that is true. The reality is that when fans walked out of the stadium after the first of those three wins, the scoreboard read: Penn 24, Columbia 7. Because of an ineligible player, Penn ended up forfeiting that game, so Columbia was awarded the win later on, which I have no quibble with. The last time the Lions actually won three consecutive games on the field was in 1996 when they won their first six before falling to Princeton, 14-11.

Columbia at Penn is the Sirius Satellite Radio game of the week. That game is available on Comcast TV in the southeast Pennsylvania area starting at noon. The Yale-Fordham game is on the YES Network (DirectTV) at noon.*
Former Dartmouth football captain Mike Rabil's '06 brother Paul is "the LeBron James of lacrosse." The New York Times Fashion & Style section has a story.*
PSAT day at Hanover High School as that certain HHS junior takes aim at a school in a valley. Not the Upper Valley but Happy Valley.
