Dartmouth defensive back Kevin de Regt's latest post on his blog The Degregtory is up. Midway through the season he covers some of the highlights, some of the lowlights and some of the, well, laughlights for the Big Green this year.

I had planned to post this next week but since it is showing up everywhere already, the Dartmouth-Harvard Homecoming game on Oct. 30 at Memorial Field will be televised live by NESN, the New England Sports Network. Find a Dartmouth release here.

Speaking of Homecoming, that's exactly what it will be at Columbia on Saturday. From Jake Novak's Roar Lions Roar blog:
Columbia hasn’t won a Homecoming game since 2000, a very bad streak that I believe has hurt long-term attendance more than any other single factor. That last win in 2000 came against… you guessed it, Dartmouth, 49-21.

Jake also has his power rankings updated and they look like this:
Penn
Brown
Columbia
Yale
Harvard
Dartmouth
Princeton
Cornell

Columbia has produced a poster to drum up support for the Lions in Saturday's game. It won't soon be confused with one of these.
*
While the Dartmouth-Columbia game features two teams with winning records (both 3-2), the Penn-Yale game features two teams with unbeaten Ivy League records (both 2-0). The Sports Network has a quick look at that showdown.
*
Harvard radio station WHRB has its power rankings out and they aren't particularly kind to the Crimson. Here's how they stack up:
Penn
Brown
Yale
Columbia
Harvard
Dartmouth
Cornell
Princeton
Of Dartmouth they write:
The Big Green is on the very cusp of greatness and the first step begins with a tough road trip to Columbia.

If you Rip Van Winkled the weekend and missed Saturday's scores and highlights, check out the Ivy roundup in the Columbia Spectator.

Did you know this? I didn't know this. From TigerBlog:
Princeton has a contract with ESPN to show a minimum of seven home events per year.
*
Speaking of the sports leader, from the Daily D:
ESPN recently named Rob Simmelkjaer ’93 as its new Vice President of International Development.
Rob used to broadcast Dartmouth football.
*
Early decision deadline is approaching for high school seniors and a running back from Amity High School in Connecticut named Kyle Kalanta has his eyes on Dartmouth according to this story mentioning that the 5-foot-11, 205-pounder carried 19 times for 187 yards against Hamden. He's also interested in ... Bates.

The Andy Rooney in me appreciates this from Wyoming head coach Dave Christensen, via Football Scoop:
"I sat with 2 recruits, where they were sitting where you are sitting, and I’m talking to them about a $60,000 scholarship and they are texting. And obviously, you probably are aware, that didn’t go over real well with me. And their parents were sitting right there next to them. And I told those kids I hope the person on the other end of that line you’re texting has a scholarship for you because I don’t."

The same source has this from Penn State's Joe Paterno, and before you make any jokes about an octogenarian coach and leather helmets, think about what he's saying for a second because the man has a point:
"I've been saying for years, we should get rid of the facemask. ... It's a weapon, guys are fearless."
