The scene from high on the home side of Wien Stadium Saturday was dramatic as always. Visiting fans park themselves on the far side of the stadium but hopefully at some point they all climb up the home stands for a look around. Watching the Circle Line boats take tourists through Spuyten Duyvil and huge ships heading up the Hudson is entertainment enough even if the game isn't as riveting as Saturday's Dartmouth-Columbia nailbiter.
This tailgating scene was taken well after the start of the game and the crowd of revelers was there throughout.
The free-food-and-beer tailgate ran the full length of the stadium and drew a huge crowd. Just coming up the hill from Broadway and making your way in front of the stadium was a challenge with so many people milling about. Without question Saturday in New York City challenged Yale for the best tailgating scene in the Ivy League.
And, as he likes to do, Dartmouth coach Buddy Teevens took the team on a little side trip Friday, this time to visit the Headless Horseman sculpture at Sleepy Hollow.
The Daily Dartmouth has a game story quoting quarterback Conner Kempe:
Ruining a homecoming is always pretty fun. We’re definitely pumped up to get to work this week and play well against Harvard.Harvard will be trying to be the one to do the ruining this weekend when Dartmouth celebrates Homecoming.

The Columbia Spectator game story is here and there's a column here that includes this:Everyone sitting around me started to groan, “Of course we’re losing. Classic Columbia football.”The Spec also has a slide show from the game here.

The Daily D has a one-on-one Q&A with freshman punter Daniel Barstein here. Barstein's 61-yard punt to the 1 Saturday helped keep Columbia at bay.*
