Video Clipped

Never one to miss a recruiting opportunity, Harvard posted an impressive strength and conditioning video on its website a couple of years ago. Now the Crimson is back to its old tricks, putting its well-done 21-minute highlight video online in two parts here. (It's also on YouTube.) Although the game didn't go at all the way Dartmouth wanted, you can find action from the Big Green-Crimson contest right at the start of the second video.

I could be wrong but I'm not sure New Balance's Ivy League Collection is going to be a huge hit in the sneaker world. From a blog post:
This collection will contain both low and mid-cut styles of the H710 and this eight sneaker collection will represent all of the eight Ivy League schools. This will include Brown, Columbia, Cornell, Dartmouth, Harvard, Penn, Princeton and Yale. Each pair will also come with a custom tongue tag in a design that plays on the school’s official logo.

Hold the presses – at least for the time being – on former Dartmouth assistant Pete Lembo being named the new football coach at Ball State according to Indiana's Star Press.

Speaking of coaching news, the Philadelphia Inquirer, perhaps feeding off message board postings, reports that New Hampshire's Sean McDonnell could be a person of interest in the Temple head coaching search.

And as long as we're talking Philly football, defending national champion Villanova came into last night's NCAA playoff semifinal on the red turf at Eastern Washington plus-six in turnovers this season. The Wildcats then proceeded to turn the ball over six times, a major factor in their 41-31 loss. It didn't help that their quarterback made Brett Favre look healthy and that all-everything Matt Szczur left in the third quarter with vision problems. (link)

Green Alert Take: As ridiculous as it is, the red turf was actually less annoying on television than Boise State's blue smurf turf. Still, the NCAA might want to rethink this one.

And just in case you thought it was safe to go back in the water ... yes, two-time Ivy League champion Penn is still idle.
