I have this little box on my desk, and it says ‘The secret of success.’ When you open it, it says ‘Work.’

In case you don't get Big Green Sports News, you can find the season-ending football story under the headline Putting an Exclamation Point on Winning Season.*
Should the flipping of the calendar have you thinking ahead to the 2011 season already, the Big Green will face Colgate in the opener on Sept. 17 at Memorial Field. It will be Dartmouth's first look at Nate Eachus, the nation's leading rusher this fall with 170.1 yards per game, 25 more than the next-most productive runner in the country. To see what's in store, check out Eachus' highlight video. Eachus will enter next fall as the nation's active rushing leader with 3,722 yards and a 120.1-yard average over his first three years.*
Overlooked in the news that Florida offensive coordinator Steve Addazio was hired as Temple's head coach was that two years ago he interviewed at Yale, but instead chose to remain at Florida and see what else developed. Good move or not?*
Speaking of coaching news, Connecticut's Randy Edsall is moving on to Maryland (Boston Globe story) and that will have a direct impact on what happens with old friend Don Brown, the Terps' defensive coordinator who started his coaching career at Dartmouth. This story suggests that Brown could (or should) be in the mix to replace Edsall at UConn, and might also get a look at Pitt. He could also end up remaining on the Maryland staff under Edsall, who he knows well.Brown is a former head coach at Plymouth State, Northeastern and UMass and served as an assistant at Brown and Yale. Like Addazio, he was a Yale target two years ago.

Among the names that have popped up as a longshot at Pitt: Mark Whipple, the former Brown (and UMass) head coach who was let go as the Miami Hurricanes offensive coordinator. Whipple is a former quarterback coach for the Steelers.*
You can follow the coaching carousel at this Sports Network link.*
