The Name's the Same and So's the Game

Sitting at your office desk bored on a Monday morning? If you need a jolt of energy, check out the highlight video for St. Thomas Academy (Minnesota) quarterback and jack-of-all-trades Ryan McManus, brother of two-time Dartmouth captain Timmy McManus. That first play is a doozy, but don't miss the "duck under" on the play that starts at about 2:25 as well as the crushing block and freight-train hit later on. The younger McManus was on campus over the weekend taking a recruiting visit. It wouldn't be a huge surprise to find him in a Dartmouth uniform next fall.

Brian White '95 was a first-team, All-Ivy defensive back at Dartmouth who went to camp with the New England Patriots and also played a little professional lacrosse. The son of former Boston Celtic Jo-Jo White has enjoyed a successful show business career and now is in a movie called "The Heart Specialist," where he plays a Harvard doctor who can't commit. Thanks for the link to this Boston Herald story.

Yankee Magazine has a story online about 100 years of the Dartmouth Winter Carnival, which will be held Feb. 10-13.

And finally, That Certain Hanover High Grad ran in her sixth Dartmouth Relays yesterday. Her first? Winning the always show-stopping Grantham County One Lapper as a preschooler. Next came four appearances with the Hanover High indoor team. She didn't post the time she thought she could have yesterday, but she did PR and seems confident that she's finally putting last year's health issue behind her and that she's rounding into form.
