The Associated Press reports that the Dartmouth men's basketball will play New Mexico State in the opening round of the Great Alaska Shootout during Thanksgiving week. Dartmouth was 5-23 last year. New Mexico State was 16-17. Also in the field are Alaska Anchorage, Southern Mississippi, Murray State, Cal Irvine, San Francisco and Central Michigan.

This is the average snowfall in Ithaca, which shows a little more than 24 inches on average in January and 24 inches in December.

Go ahead. Click on the links and check out those daily highs and lows in January as well. You might just be surprised ;-)

A web site called The Best Colleges lists what it calls The 50 Most Amazing College Campuses. These lists are ridiculously subjective – make that just ridiculous – but like car accidents, they are hard to pass by without looking.

Here's how the site explains its thought process for the list:
Because students who graduate from beautiful campuses typically report higher overall satisfaction with their college experience, we decided to put together these rankings of the 50 prettiest college campuses in the United States.
Ivy schools that made the cut:
26. Cornell
24. Yale
20. (T) Princeton
11. Harvard
9. Dartmouth
And the prettiest campus in the country according to this survey? Elon University.
