Last week's BGA blog posting about the bumper crop of standout quarterbacks the Ivy League will field this fall got one friend of this blog thinking back instead of ahead. He's curious who the Ivy League faithful would consider the best quarterbacks at each school since the start of formal conference play in 1956. Here's his ballot:Brown–James Perry '00He admits to having a soft spot for Archie Roberts at Columbia and and knows a case can be made for Marty Domres as well.
Columbia–John Witkowski '84
Cornell–Gary Wood '64
Dartmouth–Jay Fiedler '94
Harvard–Ryan Fitzpatrick '05
Penn–Gavin Hoffman '02
Princeton–Bob Holly '82
Yale–Brian Dowling '69
I can't quibble with any of his picks but a few other names come to mind including Doug Butler and Jason Garrett at Princeton, Jason McCullough at Brown, Mike Mitchell at Penn, Ricky Rahne and Bill Lazor at Cornell, Neil Rose at Harvard, Brian Mann and Buddy Teevens at Dartmouth. The tough one is finding anyone to push Brian Dowling for votes at Yale. Maybe Joe Walland?

Charlotte Johnson, vice president and dean of the college at Colgate University, will be the new dean of the college at Dartmouth. The Daily Dartmouth covers her appointment and has a reaction piece.
