More From Austria

Former Dartmouth defensive end Charles Bay and the US national football team play Germany today in Inssbruck, Austria. The American team opened with a 61-0 win over Australia in Group A before a crowd of 3,500 while Germany dropped a 22-15 decision to Mexico in the same group. The Americans will complete group play Tuesday againt Mexico.

If the play-by-play is to be believed, Bay had two tackles in the US opener, one to stop a rush for a one-yard gain in the first period and another for a three-yard lass to end the third quarter.

Bay is wearing No. 91 and is listed at 6-foot-3, 250 pounds. Find the full American roster here. By the way, while there are players from schools like Black Hills State and Washburn University on the roster there are also players from Kansas State, West Virginia, Boston College, Iowa, Iowa State, Northwestern, Boise State, SMU and Virginia Tech playing.

It's all a little confusing but if I'm reading this correctly you should be able to watch a stream of US-Germany. Find the broadcast schedule and information here.

With returning quarterbacks galore in the Ivy League this fall, Harvard's Collier Winters is easy to overlook. That may be a mistake. From Chris Mortenson's MortReport tweet:
And the winner of Manning Passing Academy Top Gun contest is...Collier Winters from...HARVARD
Oh, and it's not like Winters was competing against a bunch of nobodies. Among thoese he beat out: Andrew Luck of Stanford. A picture of Winters in the contest with Peyton Manning in the background accompanies this story.

Speaking of Harvard quarterbacks, former Crimson great Ryan Fitzpatrick, AKA The Amish Rifle for the beard he wore last year, is looking to turn the Buffalo Bills into his team according to a story on CBSSports.com.
