Ivy Media Day Update 2

Jim Maconaghy, the League’s coordinator of football officials reiterates targeting and head-to-head contact will continue to be a point of emphasis, including film review.

Changes ...

If during PAT/FG 3 def. linemen set up across from single blocker and push into backfield it will be a foul.

Blocking out of bounds - illegal especially on scrimmage kicks.

Penalties with less than a minute to go in either half could involve 10 second runoff on clock. Coach on offended team can request runoff if they take the foul. Similar to NFL rule. Can't take runoff without the foul. Can take the foul without the runoff. If team that commits foul has a timeout left they can "buy out" of the runoff.

Intentional grounding no "opportunity to catch ball" necessary anymore. Just has to have receiver in area. Reasoning: Call was very tricky to make.

Disqualified players have to leave stadium, not watch from field.

All players can now wear 4x12 inch towels.

Will try to track No. of times helmets are knocked off players. Getting to be a problem. Will emphasize buckling helmets tighter.

Change in position of umpire will not happen this year but is being studied because so many have been knocked down.

Dive into end zone with no reason will be taunting and result in TD being recalled.
