Brown(Princeton, by the way, posted the sound file for coach Bob Surace's comments on its page. Posting sound files for the individual coaches instead of one enormous file that has to be navigated back and forth to find a particular coach is something the Ivy League might want to consider in the future.)

Like Green Alert premium, the Newark Star-Ledger concentrated its coverage on the lack of postseason play and the consensus among the coaches that they would like to see a change. Paul Franklin started his piece off this way:
In-season practice limitations will be implemented when Ivy League football teams hit the field in a couple of weeks. And when the season begins the weekend of Sept. 17, night games will fall across the schedule like never before. The Philadelphia Inquirer story begins with a piece of trivia regarding the two-time defending Ivy champion Penn Quakers that may have gone under your radar (it did get past me):
Yes, winds of change are rustling the Ancient Eight, and coaches on yesterday’s teleconference seemed to agree the balance and competition in the league will be the best in years.
But one thing hasn’t changed: Games that are played after the Ivy League season. There are none.
For the first time in six years, a preseason media poll picked the Penn football team to finish atop the Ivy League. The Inky also has this (emphasis added) . . .
The Quakers will attempt to become the first Ivy team to finish undefeated in league play for three consecutive seasons and the first to capture three straight Ivy titles since Penn did it in 1986.The Ivy Media Day audio, preseason poll, Versus TV schedule, information on the Bushnell Cup and most significantly the electronic media guide for the league can all be found at this link.
Also, if you haven't already, if you scan down the BGA blog and work your way up you can follow my feeble attempt to "live blog" media day yesterday. Please excuse the typos and spelling errors. My fingers were flying to the best of their ability ;-)

If you want to scout Week 2 opponent Sacred Heart you can catch the Pioneers' game against Bryant on MSG Plus and Cox CT/RI one week before Dartmouth heads to Fairfield, Conn., if you can figure out what those networks are, and where to find them. link

Opening-week foe Colgate kicked off practice yesterday and coach Dick Biddle had this to say afterward:
