Not only was there a story detailing Yale's preseason scrimmage against Dean College on the Portal 31 blog, but the official Yale website actually had a story that included stats here. Imagine that ;-)*
Is Brown "Wide Receiver U?" The Bears' top receiver calls it that in a story in the Brown Daily Herald.Speaking of which, the receiver in question, Alex Tounkara, is referred to as Alex Tounkara-Kone in the story. Best of luck to the Brown announcer who will likely be saying this quite a few times this season: Completion from Kyle Newhall-Caballero to Alex Tounkara-Kone. For variety he might want to occasionally say, "That was Alex Tounkara-Kone from Kyle Newhall-Caballero."

Brown coach Phil Estes in a story about football safety, as quoted in the Providence Journal:"We need to make the game safer, or there won't be football and I won't have a job. There will be football and it will be called soccer."

Should have mentioned this yesterday but 2010 Dartmouth opponent Bucknell improved to 2-0 with a 28-14 win over Marist Saturday. (link) With an opening win over Duquesne the Bison haven't exactly played the toughest schedule but hey, 2-0 is 2-0 and that's one more win than they had last year. They will be at Cornell Saturday.Speaking of which, call up the Cornell website and a Homecoming schedule of events pops right up. It's another little example of the pedal being to the metal in Ithaca.

This is beautiful. From ESPN:The final score of USC's win over Utah at the L.A. Memorial Coliseum has officially been changed from 17-14 to 23-14 after the Pac-12 Conference and USC worked to review a game-ending penalty call, a school spokesperson said Saturday. Two thoughts. How do you think that played in Las Vegas, where it changed winners to losers and losers to winners? I'm not a betting person but those who follow these things might find a story in the Las Vegas Review-Journal interesting.
A second thought. Here's the above sentence with italics added that you need to think about:
