A Shocker

The only Dartmouth opponents playing yesterday were facing each other and the final was a shocker:

Holy Cross 37, Colgate 7.

That the Crusaders won at home shouldn't have been a huge surprise, but seeing them run out to a 37-0 lead certainly was. And it's not the 37 that was the surprise after Colgate surrendered 31 points to Albany in the first half of last week's 37-34 overtime win. No, the real surprise was the zero.

Find a recap and box score of the game here.

In case you are wondering, Week 2 opponent Sacred Heart had the week off and New Hampshire, the Week 2 opponent for most of the past decade, needed overtime to slip past Lehigh, 48-41.

To quote the Bard (or maybe it was Don Meredith), who'd have thunk that if Dartmouth hadn't changed its schedule the most intimidating of the non-league games might have been against Holy Cross?
*
That Certain Hanover High Graduate ran in her only home cross country meet yesterday and while she finished toward the rear of the pack, she ran without pain and even surpassed her adjusted goals after being unable to run for most of the summer. She's upbeat (then again, that's her baseline) and looking forward to the rest of the season.
