Saturday Wrap

Saturday's games with a few pithy thoughts . . .

Penn 37, Yale 25
Quakers score 27 points in the fourth quarter. Billy Ragone completes 17-of-24 passes for 236 yards and three TDs and runs for 94 yards and a TD. Penn is picking up steam.

Brown 35, Cornell 24
Ivy League sprint champion John Spooney has an 81-yard TD run and 156 yards overall and Kyle Newhall-Caballero completes 22-of-33 passes for 256 yards with two TDs for the Bears. Jeff Mathews throws for 402 yards on 31-of-45 for Cornell, tossing two TDs and no picks.

Harvard 56, Princeton 39
Harvard gets five TD passes for the second week in a row, and from a second QB with Collier Winters taking over. If one team has had two QB's throw five TDs in consecutive games before in the NCAA it can't have happened many times. Freshman Chuck Dibilio runs for 135 yards for Princeton. Harvard finishes with 560 yards of total offense and Princeton with 556.

Georgetown 40, Colgate 17
I'm speechless. Nate Eachus manages just 38 yards in 19 carries and Gavin McCarney throws for just 90 yards. Hoyas' 10th ranked run defense is for real.

Holy Cross 16, Bucknell 13

Bison manage just eight first downs and 146 total yards but are right there. Ryan Taggart runs 15 times for minus 25 yards one week after going for 176 against Dartmouth. Huh?

Monmouth 31, Sacred Heart 17
Pioneers suffer six sacks and turn ball over three times to see their four-game win streak snapped.
Ivy League Standings
Harvard 3-0, 5-1
Pennsylvania 3-0, 4-2
Yale 2-1, 3-3
Brown 2-1, 5-1
Princeton 1-2, 1-5
Dartmouth 1-2, 2-4
Cornell 0-3, 2-4
Columbia 0-3, 0-6
