The Readers Respond

The column in Friday's Daily Dartmouth, Reassessing Recruiting, has drawn some interesting responses. I'm not sure those will be the last letters the editorial receives.

Columbia offensive tackle Jeff Adams will play in college football's East-West Shrine Game on Jan. 21 at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Florida. The game will be carried on NFL Network at 4 p.m. link

While you were busy yesterday North Dakota State beat Sam Houston State for the FCS national championship before a sell-out crowed of 20,586 in Frisco, Texas. Find a story here.

Zipping off to Leverone Field House in a few minutes to watch That Certain Hanover High Graduate run the mile in the Dartmouth Relays.

That Certain Hanover High Senior, meanwhile, is one of 25 boys at Hanover chosen as New Hampshire Athletic Directors Association scholar-athletes. I don't think he's going to the ceremony but it sounds like a pretty neat affair:
The awards ceremony will take place in Concord on Feb. 6th and all Division II high schools in the states will send their recipients to that ceremony. The governor and a speaker from the world of sports will address the parents and scholar-athletes from each school.
He got good news from one college in December and is nervously awaiting news any day from another, which happened to announce its new football coach yesterday ;-)
