More To Come?

Keeping an eye on the recruiting sites, Twitter, local press, etc. for word of still another commitment. Stay tuned.

Speaking of recruits, the Everett Independent out of Massachusetts has a story about record-setting Everett QB Jonathan DiBiaso choosing Dartmouth preceded by a year at prep school.

The Independent also has a short commentary congratulating DiBiaso that begins this way:
During the greatest season a high school quarterback in this state has ever experienced, Jonathan DiBiaso led the Crimson Tide to a Super Bowl victory.

Now DiBiaso has scored another Super Bowl type of victory by being admitted to Dartmouth, arguably, one of the finest colleges in the world and a member of the prestigious Ivy League.

The NIH-supported football helmet study that included Dartmouth has taken a look at youth football and the result is disturbing. link

From an article in the Wall Street Journal spun out of Harvard grad Jeremy Lin's headline-grabbing success with the New York Knicks:
Why does a group of schools that offers its students the best of everything in nearly every field muzzle its ambitions in sports?

With an incoming Dartmouth recruit having expressed an interest in sports administration the Daily Dartmouth's timing for producing a story about the Sports Business at Dartmouth club is pretty good. From the story:
The club’s formation and growth reflects heightened student interest in sports management careers both at the College and in the Ivy League.

Sports Business was founded to expose students to the breadth of career options in the sports industry and to help students with alumni networking that could lead to future internships and job opportunities, (club president and co-founder Bianca ) Smith said.
The Sports Business at Dartmouth website hasn't been updated lately, but you can find it here.

It's fair to say the game didn't turn out the way Dartmouth might have hoped. Find the game story here. (Scan down under the Army and Navy headlines.)
