Eye On Butler

Unlike most Ivy League schools, opening-week Dartmouth opponent Butler University has posted something along the lines of what used to be called a "prospectus" for the coming season. Here are some things it tells us:

• With the definition being six starts of more, the Bulldogs have four starters returning on offense and five back on defense.

• Butler has 12 letterwinners back on offense, 19 back on defense and 0 specialists.

• The Bulldogs were 3-5 last year with two of the wins coming against Division III Albion and NAIA member Taylor University.

• One of Butler's losses was by a 28-10 score against Marist. The Red Foxes were 4-7 last year with a win at Sacred Heart and losses to Patriot League members Bucknell and Georgetown.
