Think They Will Be Good?

It's not exactly a Sign of the Apocalypse, to borrow a line from Sports Illustrated, but did you see that the IMG Academy in Florida will be fielding a high school football team in the fall of 2013? There's a Bradenton Herald story that details concerns among area coaches and an IMG FAQ here.

Our Green Machine Cal Ripken baseball team closed out its season yesterday with an 8-3 victory in the North Division-South Division championship game. The kids were given a police escort down Hanover's Main Street, around the Dartmouth Green and back to Ramunto's restaurant, which treated them to a pizza party. Hanover and the campus were absolutely jammed due to reunions and the visitors joined in the fun by cheering the kids on as we made our way through town with blue lights flashing at the start and end of the procession and horns honking from front to back. Even a reunioning class enjoying lunch on the Baker Library lawn saluted the new Cal Ripken champions.
