Worth Checking Out

Former linebacker Gordy Quist '02 (center) and former defensive back Trevor Nealon '02 (left) of The Band of Heathens perform at The Shady Grove in Austin, Texas. (Click photos to enlarge.)
Thanks for the photos and if you get a chance to see The Band of Heathens on their current tour, tell 'em BGA says hi!
Had lunch last week an original BGA subscriber who has a pretty fair collection of Dartmouth sports memorabilia. With apologies to his wife and young daughter it occurred to me after we ate to steer him to a hole in the wall shop below the old Campion's store just a few doors down from Lou's.

Although it's address is on Main Street, access to International DVD & Poster is from the back of the building off of Lebanon Street. Inside there is a terrific collection of old Dartmouth (and Ivy League) football programs, football posters, Dartmouth posters, movie posts, DVD's, old videotapes and more. This isn't a paid endorsement ;-) but if you happen to be in town you might just get a kick out of looking through what they have to offer.
That Certain Nittany Lion got his college ID and successfully completed his day of advising and picking classes yesterday in University Park, Pa. The big day ended with us sitting at the laptop at 8 p.m., when football tickets went on sale for incoming freshmen. Not sure exactly when they sold out but at 8:00:02 (give or take a fraction of a second) TCNL was registering for tickets and after passing the second obnoxious Captcha verification code challenge, we were $218 poorer and he had a seat for seven games at Beaver Stadium next fall.
