Football On Memorial Field

Dartmouth will play host to the Shrine Maple Sugar Bowl all-star game between New Hampshire and Vermont this afternoon. Listed as the starting punter for New Hampshire is Dartmouth-bound Daniel Gorman, who played his high school football across the street at Hanover HS. He's slated to play wide receiver as well as punt once Dartmouth begins preseason action.

ESPN Boston has a story about the Shrine game. New Hampshire has won the last 11 contests and leads the series, 43-13-2.
Friday's edition of The Dartmouth had a story headlined: Athletics and admissions work to attract student athletes. From the story:

“We look for opportunities for our teams to play outside of the Northeast to promote Dartmouth in those areas,” (Deputy Athletic Director Bob Ceplikas ’78) said. “It is an opportunity to rally alumni support and raise visibility of the Dartmouth name. As much as we all have green blood, Dartmouth is not a household word around the country.”
Stony Brook and Albany headed to the CAA according to Newsday.
