The only Ivy League team to appear in the College Sporting News 2012 FCS Preseason Top 25 is Harvard, which is in the Others Receiving Votes category. The Crimson is listed 27th. None of Dartmouth's nonleague opponents are mentioned.

Former Columbia standout Alex Gross has blogged scenic photos from his season playing football in Austria, where he was the league MVP. His team didn't win the title but it would seem he had a pretty good time overseas. link

A couple of former Dartmouth athletes are in the news. Baseball pitcher Kyle Hendricks '12, who has been having a terrific season (won-loss record aside) in Single A this year, has been dealt from the Texas Rangers to the Chicago Cubs. linkA scouting report from CSN Chicago:
"Hendricks is an OK pitcher who projects as a back-of-the-rotation starter or middle reliever," one scout who has seen him multiple times told me. "He has outstanding command and a plus curveball, but the rest of his pitches are just OK. He does not have a lot of upside as a high-end starter, but he should make the big leagues."And former Big Green point guard Flinder Boyd '02 is probably watching the Olympic basketball closely after an injury essentially cost him a chance to play for Great Britain. There's a story in the Jewish Daily Forward.
