Talkin' About Practice

Cornell started practice last week, Yale kicked off Friday (New Haven Register) and Columbia was at it on Sunday.

Those of you who have been around a bit can jump to the practice schedule below, but for the uninitiated, don't worry. Dartmouth doesn't start until Wednesday but it will have the same number of practices as all the other Ivies. They are just spread out differently. The fact that Dartmouth starts classes later than most of the rest of the Ivy League (although not as late as in the past) allows the Big Green to schedule double sessions while other schools are in session.
Speaking about practice, here is the tentative Dartmouth schedule for the preseason. (Did I mention this is tentative?):

We Aug. 22 - 8:30/9:15 (split squad)
Th Aug. 23 - 8:30/9:15 (split squad)
Fr Aug. 24 - 8:30/9:15 (split squad)
Sa Aug. 25 - 8:30/9:15 (split squad)

Su Aug. 26 - 8:15
Mo Aug. 27 - 8:15/4:15 (double session)
Tu Aug. 28 - 3
We Aug. 29 - 8:15/4:15 (double session)
Th Aug. 30 - 3
Fr Aug. 31 - 8:15/4:15 (double session)
Sa Sept. 1 - 1 (scrimmage)

Su Sept. 2 - OFF
Mo Sept. 3 - 8:15/4:15 (double session)
Tu Sept. 4 - 3
We Sept. 5 - 8:15/3:45 (double session)
Th Sept. 6 - Harvard scrimmage
End preseason - start Butler game week

Remember, Green Alert Premium will have in-person coverage of every session.

The Sports Network has Week Two opponent Holy Cross pegged for third in the Patriot League.
Another day, another preseason All-America team, this time from the FCS Senior Bowl. Yawn. Wake me when the games start.
For those of you who are keeping score it's now two in college, none left here on the shoulder of Moose Mountain. Gotta admit, it feels a little strange. That Certain Older One is wrapping up her Sophomore Summer, will be home for almost a week and then heads out to the Rockies for Dartmouth's famed Stretch field study program. That Certain Younger One woke up in the wilderness this morning in central PA probably wondering where he is and how in the world he ended up there. Hint: as part of his Orion freshman trip.
