Familiar Names

The season may be over but I'm in the midst of two "wicked" busy weeks without much time to devote to the blog so . . .

Check out ESPNBoston for a high school report on Dartmouth-bound Lucas Bavaro, who tells the site he's ticketed to play safety with the Big Green. Bavaro chose Dartmouth over Colgate. He is the son of Mark Bavaro, the former tight end best known for his play with the New York Giants.
No news on where he's going to school but Wyatt Schmidt, brother of former Dartmouth kicker Foley Schmidt '12, is one of three finalists for the "2012 Herbalife 24 Chris Sailer Award for the top high school placekicker in the country." Find an announcement here. Schmidt is also a standout ice hockey player.
