Countdown To The Draft

The first round of the NFL Draft will be broadcast on primetime TV one month from today. The second and third rounds will be conducted the next evening, and rounds 4-7 will be taken the next day, Saturday, April 27.

No Ivy Leaguer is getting chosen on the first night and there's only a very small chance someone would go on the second day. But the final day of the draft will be nailbiting time for a few other Ivy products, with most of them keeping their phones closer than usual in hopes of landing a free agent deal after the draft wraps up.

Arguably with the best chance of being drafted is Harvard H-back Kyle Juszczyk. He and five other Crimson hopefuls took part in the Crimson pro day a little over a week ago. Quarterback Colton Chapple, running back Treavor Scales, offensive lineman John Collins, defensive lineman John Lyon and punter Jacob Dombrowski were joined by hopefuls from other Boston area schools. Hear from a couple of them and check out their workout numbers in this video:

After moving That Certain Dartmouth '14 into her dorm room across the street from the Berry Center yesterday I noticed Red Rolfe Field at Biondi Park was essentially snow-free. Weather-permitting, Dartmouth baseball is slated to open the home season there Wednesday against Siena.

Dartmouth football, meanwhile, kicks off spring practice two weeks from tomorrow on Memorial Field, which also is snow-free for the most part.
