More Honors For Recruits

Darius George
Incoming safety Darius George of  Cardinal Gibbons High School in Fort Lauderdale, Fla, received the Scholar-Athlete Award at the Brian Piccolo Awards Dinner Wednesday night in Coral Springs. The 38th annual National Football Foundation and College Football Hall of Fame's Brian Piccolo Chapter celebration also saw Darius win the chapter's Defense Award.

South Florida High School Sports.com had a few interesting notes last year about the defensive back who has since grown to 6-foot-2 and 200 pounds. His Hudl highlight package is here.
Peter Eggert, recruited to Dartmouth as a tight end out of Laguna Hills High School in California, has been chosen to play in the Brea Lions Orange County North-South All-Star Football Game. The 6-4, 235 Eggert will play linebacker as well as tight end in the contest, slated for June 28 at Orange Coast College. Find Eggert's highlight video here.
The CBS TV affiliate in Philadelphia has an interview with Penn coach Al Bagnoli capping spring practice and looking ahead to the fall. Two quotes from the dean of Ivy League coaches might make opposing fans gulp:
“We’re very experienced in the offensive backfield. It’s very unusual that we’re going to have four, fifth-year kids, line up from quarterback and back.  So with (quarterback) Ryan Becker coming back and (quarterback) Billy Ragone and (running back) Lyle Marsh and Brandon Colavito at tailback,  we’ve got four fifth-year kids, which is unprecedented in my tenure.  So we should be very good at the offensive skill positions.”
As if that weren't scary enough, here's another from Bagnoli, who is  usually pretty guarded in his remarks:
“Believe it or not, our punting scenario is probably my biggest question mark.”
