Game Day In The Keystone State

The Dartmouth daily yesterday had a preview of today's game at Penn.

The Daily Pennsylvanian also posted a preview. Penn coach Al Bagnoli told the paper:
"Dartmouth has done a really good job on offense because they’ve got balance. They run the ball well, the quarterback can run the ball, they play option football a little bit like what we just saw so schematically they can wreak some havoc against us.”
Philly.com has capsule previews of college football games of local interest including Dartmouth-Penn. The editor might want to revisit that posting, though, because it evolves into a look at Villanova ;-)
I'm never sure what stories in our local daily are available online because we are subscribers and don't get dead-ended by the log-in. But click here and see if you can check out the story on Joey McIntyre, Dartmouth's director of football operations. A product of Hartford (Vt.) High School who played football at Bridgton Academy and for a bit at Bryant University, he has been a huge help to everyone who is around the program, present company included.

Among other things, coach Buddy Teevens has this to say about McIntyre:
“He always has a smile on his face and everyone likes him. He has a subtle sense of humor and there’s nothing he won’t do, which I love. From picking up tape off the field, to arranging for a bus, to going to appointments with administrators, he’s exceeded my expectations and I appreciate the work he’s done.”
And . . .
“He’s gotten to understand my moods and how to roll with them. He’s got a thick skin, which I test frequently, because I’m real direct and harsh on occasion.”
The story ends with this from McIntyre:
“During the season, I spend more time with the people in this program than I do with my family. But we can pick on each other and laugh with each other — and on game days, we win or lose together.”
