Football 101

Check out BGA tomorrow for photos from Dartmouth Football 101, which takes place this evening. The innovative program is being billed as "a crash course on college football guaranteed to get you ready for the 2014 season." Among other things, the FREE event will include:

• Dri-FIT T-shirts for the first 100 attendees age 18 and over
• Free mini footballs for the first 250 children
• A tailgate catered by EBAs
• Activities for kids including a bounce house, poster-making and flag football
• Skill stations run by the Dartmouth football staff
• Q&A and rules demonstration with an official

The evening will include a fashion show in which the Big Green's 2014 uniforms will be revealed.

Access is through the northeast gate of Memorial Field (near Alumni Gym). Activities will take place on Memorial Field and inside Floren Varsity House. In event of rain the action will shift to Leverone Field House.
Once again, UNH has gone the extra mile and produced a true football media guide that is available online. It is available AT THIS LINK. I'm currently working on my 2014 Big Green opponent series and the UNH guide is a tremendous help.

Green Alert Take: I can't help but think Ivy League schools are missing the boat in not producing media guides. Tossing information up on web pages is great, but those pages and that information can be here today and gone tomorrow. Alumni, friends of the program, recruits and the media can save online guides as PDFs and/or print them for permanent record-keeping.

A reminder that if you are a first-time subscriber to BGA Premium, you need to fill out the form on THIS PAGE to gain full access to the site. (This is where you create your username and password.)

Opponent previews will begin Sunday and there will be at least one newspaper-length story EVERY DAY between now the end of the season. Here's a look at last year's Penn opponent preview:
