Naming Names

In recruiting news, a couple of new names have bubbled to the surface and one big one apparently has settled somewhere else.
Several NJ.com reports referred to Cresskill, N.J. tight end/linebacker Harrison Farber as a "Dartmouth commit." A STORY using that wording noted he had 28 catches for 389 yards and six touchdowns go go along with 57 tackles and three interceptions heading into the state playoffs. He is listed at about 6-foot-2 and 210 pounds.

Find his video highlights HERE, and a nice action photo of him HERE.
On his Twitter account, New Trier, Ill., lineman Matt Kaskey refers to himself as, "New Trier Football #74 Dartmouth Class of 2019."

On his Hudl page (LINK) he is listed at 6-7, 300 pounds.

Showing once again that recruiting sites are interesting but not always accurate, Kaskey's Scout.com page (LINK) lists schools of interest without any mention at all of Dartmouth.
It was fun while it lasted but according to a story this week in the Shreveport Times, big lineman Jerry Tillery's flirtation with Dartmouth is over and he has reconfirmed his commitment to Notre Dame. (LINK)

Notre Dame coach Brian Kelly, who got the commitment on a visit to Tillery this week, told the Shreveport newspaper:
“He could be a left tackle, or he could be an incredible three technique (defensive lineman that lines up directly over center). I haven’t seen a lot of guys that can (play on both lines). That’s very unique and very rare.
“Usually if a guy is long and stiff, he’ll play tackle. Or if he’s short and stocky, he’ll play the three tech. But (Tillery) blows away the profile at the position.”
Also from the story:
Tillery traveled across the region as a top recruit (four-star by Rivals), visiting Arkansas, LSU multiple times, Ole Miss, Texas A&M and making an Ivy League trip to Dartmouth.
But Tillery, who’s been a lifelong Notre Dame fan and a verbal commit for about 18 months, decided Notre Dame’s stringent academic environment and diverse opportunities were too much to pass up.
“Notre Dame has so much to offer, that’s why I chose it,” Tillery said. “From the academics to the student body to the incredible football team, it has the total package.
The FCS playoffs resume tonight and tomorrow with a couple of games with some local interest.

The Sports Network picks No. 1 New Hampshire to narrowly outlast Chattanooga tonight on ESPN2, and sees former Dartmouth assistant Joe Moglia and Coastal Carolina falling to North Dakota State. (LINK)

We had hoped to get over to Durham to see UNH but 8 p.m. is pretty late when it's a two-hour drive home, and well, it is Mrs. BGA's birthday after all. Happy birthday!
There is a 40 percent chance of flurries this morning, which is no surprise. Although we have only about 15 inches of standing snow here on the mountain, it seems as if it has been either snowing or flurrying continually since late Monday. I'm ready for some blue skies.

That said, it is beautiful. Here's a shot I took last night of our Christmas lights over a driveway signpost that says, "Welcome to the Woods."
