Oh Yeah

You could see how much linebacker/defensive end Matt Oh '11 liked the game of football during Saturday afternoon games in the fall but you could really see how much he loved it when he was stuck on the sidelines awaiting his reps during the week. I've written this before but he looked like a golden retriever shivering with excitement at the idea that the ball would soon be in the air. You half thought he would implode waiting his turn to get back in the action.

Clearly his love of the game hasn't diminished. Oh, who had a training camp shot with the CFL's Hamilton Tigercats in 2012, suited up this year for the Panasonic Impulse in the X-League, the premier professional league in Japan.

With an eye toward another chance in the CFL or perhaps even the NFL, the 6-foot-2, 245-pound Oh has pulled together a highlight video from Japan:

Here's a screen grab from his Panasonic Impulse web page:

Among others playing in Japan this year was running back Gino Gordon, the former Ivy League player of the year who scored four touchdowns in the Japan X Bowl. (LINK)

Oh and Gordon were joined in the X-League by a number of other "imports" including the opposing quarterbacks in the Japan X Bowl, Kevin Craft of UCLA and Colby Cameron of Louisiana Tech.

While Oh is eager to get another shot on this side of the Pacific, he's been considering other career options in entertainment, the arts or coaching. He is signed with New York's  Silver Model Management agency, which manages "the top fitness models, sports models, champion bodybuilders, and athletes in the modeling and fitness industries."

Here are a couple of his modeling shots:

A talented artist, Oh recently had a mural installed at the Dallas Shared Housing Center and will be putting up another later this month at Educations First Steps.
