Potpourri

The Dartmouth sports publicity office has posted a story on the Big Green football program entering the brave new world of virtual reality with a story about its partnership with STRIVR HERE.
Jake Novak of the Roar Lions blog gives his take on the Dartmouth football recruiting class and seems to like what he sees. (LINK)
With Lehigh opening the football season against Central Connecticut this year the always well-done Lehigh Football Nation takes a look at the Blue Devils and the Northeast Conference race. LFN has Central Connecticut pegged for sixth in the seven-team NEC with defending champion Sacred Heart – yet another Dartmouth opponent – slotted third. (LINK)
A couple of writers finishing up their careers at the school newspaper close out their final column in The Dartmouth (LINK) this way:
And, because we can’t leave without one final prediction as we transition into full-time fandom, here it goes. The Dartmouth football team will run the table in the Ancient Eight and win its first Ivy League title since 1996. It has the talent and the team has shown that it has the capability to win in recent years. Next year is where it takes the next step and brings home the hardware.
Dartmouth junior infielder Joe Purritano was picked by the Cincinnati Reds in the 30th round of the Major League Baseball draft yesterday. He's the 23rd Dartmouth player chosen since 2000. (LINK)
Videos of people catching a football while doing a backflip have gone viral on the Internet. It would be fun to see the Dartmouth mascot doing THIS like the Nittany Lion. What's that you say? Oh yeah, Dartmouth doesn't have a mascot :-(
And finally, in anticipation of Dartmouth graduation . . .

I suspect a lot of you visit this site at work so I thought to give you two days to look back at Conan O'Brien's graduation speech at Dartmouth from 2011. This is becoming an oldie-but-goodie but will still bring a lot of laughs. If you don't get all of his inside humor, ask a current student or recent alum (which is what we did).
