Monday, Monday

Harvard Magazine covers Friday's game and calls the Crimson's victory over Dartmouth, "arguably the most improbable victory in an important game in Harvard’s 142-season football history."
The Dartmouth has a capsule report of the contest that says there will be more coverage during the week.
An SB Nation column recounts the Dartmouth-Cornell 5th Down game and says Miami should follow Cornell's lead and voluntarily give up a win that replays show should belong to Duke.

An ESPN notes column points out that it is the 75th anniversary of the famed 5th down game in which Cornell sent a telegram surrendering the win to Dartmouth as well as the 25th anniversary of another between Colorado and Missouri in which Colorado did not offer to give up a win earned on a fifth down. From the column:
In the wake of Miami’s “victory” over Duke, I wonder if there’s still a Western Union office in Coral Gables.
The New York Times writes about Harvard alum Ryan Fitzpatrick, who is approaching Sid Luckman's record of 137 NFL touchdown passes by an Ivy League product. The Times notes that the Ivy League has . . .
. . . produced 14 of the 44 presidents (and some decent tight ends and safeties, too). But only 25 quarterbacks have appeared in N.F.L. games, and eight played before the end of World War II.
In case you are wondering, Dartmouth's Jay Fiedler threw 69 touchdowns between 1995 and 2005. Big Green alum Jeff Kemp tossed 39 between 1981 and '91.
Dartmouth will be back out at practice this afternoon in preparation for a second Friday night TV game in as many weeks. Check BGA Premium tonight for a report.
