After scrambling back from a 10-point deficit to tie the game at 10-10, Dartmouth seemed destined for overtime at Holy Cross as the final minute wound down.
But with 11 seconds remaining the Crusaders surprised everyone by electing to throw the ball and Vernon Harris made them pay for the gamble by forcing a fumble that Teddy Reed recovered at the Holy Cross 31.
Alex Park came right out and completed a 17-yard throw to Ryan McManus one the Big Green sideline to give Dartmouth possession at the home 14 with five seconds left.
After a Dartmouth timeout and then a Holy Cross timeout to try to freeze him Riley Lyons came on to boot his second field goal of the game from 31 yards out to give the Big Green the victory.
