Thursday Potpourri

Mike Bruno, who came to Dartmouth in 2011 as video coordinator and worked his way up to nickels and assistant secondary coach, has finished a one-year stint as a defensive graduate assistant at Mississippi State. He started this month at the University of Louisville, where he is a defensive quality control assistant and works with the linebackers.

Bruno was with the Big Green for five seasons, leaving after Dartmouth captured the 2015 Ivy League title.
The 10th anniversary of the Dartmouth Idol competition will feature former Big Green co-captain and offensive lineman David Morrison among the semifinalists. Morrison and other vocalists will be on stage trying to advance on Saturday, Feb. 4 at 8 p.m. in Spaulding Auditorium. (LINK)
From a story in The Dartmouth about last Saturday's Upper Valley winter Special Olympics:
Student groups that were signed up to volunteer at this year’s event included Dartmouth’s football, women’s crew and women’s rugby teams, fraternities such as Zeta Psi and Alpha Chi Alpha and local high school teams such as Hanover High School’s girls and boys hockey.
From the story:
Brandon Hester ’20, a member of the Dartmouth football team and a volunteer at this year’s Games, echoed a similar sentiment, noting how it was exciting to see the athletes “getting pumped up like any athlete would,” listening to songs and warming up before events.
Remember the note about the high school senior who was announcing his college decision on live TV? His finalists were Dartmouth, Yale and Princeton. His choice? Princeton.
Expect an announcement on Dartmouth's new tight ends coach and offensive coordinator before long. Both are coming a long way ;-)
Stuck song syndrome: After watching local and network news last night,  the line, "You're going to make it after all" is on an endless loop . . .
