Day One In The Books

With Dartmouth spring football practice kicking off on a chilly afternoon in Hanover yesterday here's how it looked from the sidelines to a writer posing as a videographer with an iPod Touch in hand ;-)

Safety Charlie Miller, nickel Lucas Bavaro and kicker Alex Gakenheimer have been named to the Hampshire Honor Society by the National Football Foundation. The Hampshire honor recognizes standout work both in the classroom and on the field. Find a Dartmouth release HERE.

From a note about the trio on last night's BGA Premium report:
“They are wonderful performers on and off the field and that’s what we look for,” said Teevens. “Good football players at football time, good students at academic time, and good guys all the time.
“It has been nice to have the opportunity to work with those guys over the past four years and I’m sure they will all do well in the future.”
Asked about last week's Pro Day, Teevens said Charlie Miller had a workout set with the San Francisco 49ers and that Flo Orimolade had a successful workout with the Baltimore Ravens.
