Dartmouth football game times for the fall haven't been published and likely won't be for a while, but combine a little Googling with a little institutional memory and alert ears and a picture starts to develop of the possible 2017 game times. Be forewarned that most of what follows are educated guesses. And that the TV schedule could play havoc with the schedule.
With that out of the way, here are this fall's games from Week One to Week 10:
Week One: We've got a pretty good idea about the Sept. 16 opener at Stetson because it is listed at 6 p.m., on the Stetson website.
Week Two: Given that Dartmouth's home opener the past five years has been under the lights, it's a pretty safe assumption the Sept. 23 Memorial Field game against Holy Cross will kick off at 7:05 p.m. Holy Cross played under the lights at Memorial Field in 2013.
Week Three: The Ivy League opener at Penn is currently slated for Sept. 30 and it shouldn't be a surprise if the TV people have that one on their radar for a night game, perhaps even one of the Friday night broadcasts.
Week Four: The Yale game on Oct. 7 is Dartmouth Homecoming and you can bet the farm that game will be in the afternoon, most likely at 1:30 p.m.
Week Five: Sacred Heart is listing the Oct. 14 Dartmouth game with the Pioneers for 1 p.m.
The next three Big Green games are harder to predict.
Week Six: Dartmouth plays host to Columbia on Oct. 21. The last time the Lions visited Hanover the game kicked off at 3:05 p.m. for TV reasons. The guess here – and it's only a guess – is it will be a 1:30 game. Columbia coach Al Bagnoli is no fan of the trip to Hanover, particularly at night, and he's not afraid to let his feelings be known.
Week Seven: It's just a hunch but given recent scheduling between the teams, there's a good chance the Oct. 28 game at Harvard will be at night. TV could have an interest in that one.
Week Eight: Barring a surprise, the Nov. 4 Cornell game at Memorial Field will be a 1:30 kickoff. The 2015 game between the teams at Memorial Field under the lights drew just 3,930, a disappointing crowd for a night game.
Week Nine: Brown is listing the Nov. 10 game with Dartmouth at Fenway Park as a 7 p.m. start.
Week 10: And finally, global warming or not, it would be an upset if Big Green finale against Princeton on Nov. 18 is under the lights. Pencil that one in for an afternoon kickoff.
So what do we know for sure? Only the times for three games have been posted on opponent sites (and even they could be changed).
