Folly By Golly

What do former Dartmouth offensive linemen John Scheve, Pat Lahey and Ryan O'Neill, tight end Justin Foley and wildcat quarterback Greg Patton have in common?

As members of the Big Green offense they couldn't get going until center Rob Bathe '13 snapped the ball.

Guess what? He's still helping them get going . . . in the morning ;-)

Bathe, a member of the All-Ivy League first team as a senior, has founded Folly Coffee Roasters back home in Minneapolis and Scheve, Lahey, O'Neill, Foley and Patton have been among his customers in an enterprise he kicked off last spring and that he explains this way:
We're a wholesale coffee roaster lightly roasting single origin specialty coffee on a mission to bridge the gap between the coffee elite and the everyday drinker of jo. We're in a growing number of co-ops and grocery stores across the Twin Cities as well as direct sales online with individual bags or subscriptions.
When he says he wants to "bridge" the gap, he means it. The business name and its logo honor the iconic Stone Arch Bridge once thought to be a folly, but which ended up helping Minneapolis develop into the thriving city it is today.
