Here We Go

It's opening day for the Big Green and the weather forecast in Hanover couldn't be better. OK, maybe it could be a little cooler for the guys in pads but 80 degrees and "zero percent" chance of rain sounds pretty good for the stands ;-)
The Georgetown Voice preview includes this:
Dartmouth recently made national headlines when they became the first Division I football program to tenure a female coach – Callie Brownson. Dartmouth head coach Buddy Teevens, told ESPN that Brownson is “as good as anyone I’ve ever had in terms of her skill set.” With all of this publicity, it is the perfect time for the Hoyas to steal a big win.
Green Alert Take: Uh . . .
The local Valley News has a season preview that includes this:
“I see us as outright Ivy champs this season,” said junior linebacker Nigel Alexander, whose squad tied for second place in 2017 and opens a new campaign at 1:30 p.m. today against visiting Georgetown (1-1). “Most definitely, 10-0. Our offense is looking good, and our defense is looking really good.”
Green Alert Take: To quote the Amazin's Tug McGraw, Ya Gotta Believe!
WTOP radio on Washington has a story about Virginia native Callie Brownson joining the Dartmouth staff. From the story:
The football team at Dartmouth College is finally kicking off its season Saturday. The Mean Green are hosting the Georgetown Hoyas, who are already 1-1 on the season, leading the new offensive quality control coach to quip that just means there’s more film to dissect for a game plan.
Green Alert Take: Beware the Mean Green. I guess they represent Dartmouth University in Vermont ;-)
The Ivy League season opened last night with Brown taking a 44-15 beating by Col Poly. Brown started Michael McGovern at quarterback and the soph completed 25-of-50 passes for 312 yards with one interception. Cal Poly didn't need much passing, running for a mind-boggling 420 yards.
