Flo Wins A Ring

Former Dartmouth standout Folarin Orimolade is a national champion.

The 2016 Bushnell Cup winner as the Ivy League defensive player of the year had two tackles Sunday as he helped the Calgary Stampeders win the Canadian Football League's Grey Cup with a 27-16 victory over the Ottawa Redblacks.

The first stories out of the game listed Flo with a fumble recovery (LINK) but that seems to be corrected in updated stories and in the final stats. (LINK)

Orimolade, who spent the summer of 2017 in camp with the Los Angeles Rams, finished the year appearing in nine games with two sacks, two forced fumbles, one pass defended and seven tackles from scrimmage along with 10 tackles on special teams. (Calgary bio)

Ryder Stone, Flo's former Dartmouth teammate, closed out his rookie year as a running back for the Montreal Alouettes with 116 yards and one touchdown rushing and four catches for 29 yards out of the backfield. (Montreal bio)
Kudos to The Daily Northwestern for digging deep to pull up an obscure statistic from Ohio State's 62-39 win over Michigan Saturday. From the story (LINK):
It was also a milestone for Michigan defensive coordinator Don Brown. Brown’s defense hadn’t allowed 62 points since his Dartmouth Big Green allowed 66 to New Hampshire in 1986.
As former Dartmouth Sports Information Director Kathy Slattery Phillips would often say, "Ouch, babe." The final that afternoon on Memorial Field, by the way, was 66-12.
