What Should've And Could've Been

Gonna sit in the rain at Penn State's Beaver Stadium today. Sure would rather sit in the rain watching Princeton or Dartmouth in the FCS playoffs this weekend -- and that says something.

A message board poster suggests Ivy League football players might want to consider a petition saying that they won't report to camp next year, or bring in a lawyer to argue discrimination if the Ivy presidents don't do the right thing re. the ban on the playoffs. (LINK)

I've heard others suggest getting Chris Berman and other Ivy alums with the bully pulpit to help the general public become aware of the Ivy League presidents' discrimination against football and how indefensible it is as a way to spur them to do the right thing.

Green Alert Take: I'm not sure what the right course of action is, but given the national profile of the Dartmouth and Princeton football teams this fall, this is a chance to strike while the iron is hot.
