From last night's BGA Premium:

As has been the case each year since 1970, the training staff finished the final practice by presenting the Hard-Nose Award, which "recognizes that player who, in working closely with the trainers, showed toughness and resolve dealing with injury while still contributing measurably to the success of the team." This year’s winner is fifth-year offensive lineman Andrew Yohe, who was greeted by explosive applause from his teammates when his name was called.

“What a wonderful choice,” coach Buddy Teevens said. "A guy that has done everything he could to play. Three surgeries. Year-long recoveries. It just went on and on and on. Frustrating? I’m sure it was but he just never let it get to him. He helped everybody else around him get better. You saw the explosion of love for the guy. He’s a classic.”

Yohe had surgery on both shoulders. “And they did one shoulder again,” said Teevens. "You lose count.”

Teevens welcomed the 6-foot-2, 315-pound Yohe’s decision last year to return for a final season although he admitted it wasn’t without risk given the player’s injury history.

"I said it might not work,” he recalled. "You never know. He said, ‘Nope, I’m in.' Fortunately, he had a chance to play. He was a significant contributor during the course of the year. He never started, really, but he played a lot of football for us."
