Speaking of coaches moving on . . .ESPN is reporting that Dartmouth alum Courtney Banghart will be leaving Princeton after her über-successful run as head coach to take over the North Carolina program. From the ESPN piece:
She is 254-103 in 12 seasons, though more than a third of those losses came during her first two seasons. In the years since, she has won nearly 78 percent of her games, dating to the 2009-10 season, with three perfect runs through Ivy League play and the past two Ivy League tournament titles.Green Alert Take: I covered Courtney as a player and later an assistant coach at Dartmouth and believe UNC hasn't just hit a home run but hit a game-seven grand slam. I couldn't be happier for her.
Green Alert Take II: This is a huge plus for Dartmouth women's basketball. Not only can it take pride in having one of its own coaching at a traditional nation powerhouse, but now the Big Green won't have to go head-to-head with her on the recruiting trail and face her twice a year on the hardwood.
