Look At That!

Making an NFL roster as an undrafted free agent out of the Ivy League is a tough go, but regardless of what happens when cuts come in former Dartmouth tackle Matt Kaskey has made a name for himself on the back of a 68 Los Angeles Rams jersey. (LINK)

Speaking of Kaskey, he's had 46 snaps during the preseason as noted on a story under the headline, What the snap counts through three games of the preseason tell us about the 2019 Los Angeles Rams’ effort to construct their 53-man roster. The subhead for that story: Here’s how much playing time everyone has received and what it might mean for the roster cuts coming on Saturday. (LINK)
The mention of Matt Kaskey sent me scurrying to see what's happening with a few of Dartmouth's other grads pursuing the pro dream.

Former Big Green tailback Ryder Stone '18, now of the Montreal Alouettes, has been place on the CFL team's six-game injured list after suffering a concussion.

Onetime Dartmouth linebacker Flo Orimolade '17, was projected as a starting defensive end for the Calgary Stampeders this season but has been out all year with a knee injury. From an Aug. 1 story in the Calgary Sun:
Folarin Orimolade made an appearance at McMahon Stadium and climbed the stairs during practice. He wasn’t wearing a brace, which is notable because he suffered a serious knee injury in the Stampeders’ first pre-season game. He’s making progress.
And then there's this from the world of rugby:

Steve Dazzo '15 was a two-time member of the All-Ivy League second team as a safety and co-captain of the 8-2 (6-1 Ivy League) Dartmouth football team of 2014. The Free Jacks are an expansion team of Major League Rugby that will kick off play next year. Find Dazzo's bio page with the Free Jacks HERE.

Former Dartmouth rugby coach Alex Magleby is the CEO of the Free Jacks. (LINK)
