The Next Big Thing

Work continues on Dartmouth's indoor practice facility that will feature a 75-yard FieldTurf football field with a 10-yard end zone. Circled near the middle of the picture to put the height of the facility in perspective is one of the workers. Click the photo to enlarge.
The offshore wise guys have spoken and none of Dartmouth's nonconference opponents are favored.
Jacksonville (0-1) is a three point underdog at Presbyterian.
Colgate (0-2) is a seven point underdog at William & Mary.

Hungry to watch a little Dartmouth football after seeing everyone else in the free world start their seasons?

With help from YouTube you could watch UMass Dartmouth play Alfred State in Division III. Or Dartmouth High School in Massachusetts play Falmouth. You could watch Syracuse-Dartmouth College football (sorry, women's soccer) or you could watch that video football game between Dartmouth and Yale. . . .

What you can't watch is real Dartmouth College football. While the Big Green women's soccer has played four games, field hockey has played two and men's soccer will play its second tonight the football team won't begin play for another 12 days. By then the women's soccer team will have played seven of its 17 games!

Green Alert Take: No NCAA playoffs. No 11th game. Bragging about being the last in the nation to start play (something the Ivy League PR folks have done in the past). It's time for Ivy League football to stop being the red-headed stepchild of the conference. (Apologies to all you gingers out there.) When you think about it, it's amazing the league gets the quality players that it does.
